What kind of material is rock wool?

Rock wool is an inorganic fiber made by high-temperature melting and fibrosis. It is called "rock wool" because its shape resembles "cotton" and originated in Hawaii.

Rock wool is mainly made from natural rocks such as basalt, gabbro, dolomite, iron ore, bauxite, etc. After being melted at high temperatures above 1450 ℃, it is centrifuged into fibers using an internationally advanced four axis centrifuge at high speed. At the same time, a certain amount of binder, dustproof oil, and hydrophobic agent are sprayed and collected by a cotton collecting machine. After being processed by the pendulum method and laid with three-dimensional cotton, it is solidified and cut to form rock wool products of different specifications and uses. Rock wool has excellent insulation and fire prevention functions, and is suitable for insulation and heat insulation of construction and industrial equipment, pipelines, containers, and various kilns.

Due to the water absorption properties of rock wool, it is prone to freeze-thaw, cavity formation, pulverization, and detachment when applied to external wall insulation, which poses a safety hazard and cannot achieve the desired insulation effect.
