As a result, throwing away a ton of waste sand is more expensive than buying a ton of new sand. Therefore, special treatment and secondary use can be used for the following purposes:

1. Production of cement: SiO2, iron oxide, and Al2O3 required for cement are all found in waste foundry sand, and the carbon contained in them can be burned. The SiO2 content of waste sand is required to be greater than 80%, the alkali content is at a low limit, the particle size is uniform, and the amount of material is large;

2. Mixed concrete: After the waste foundry sand is crushed and reaches a certain particle size, it can be used for concrete mixing;

3. Brick making: Sieve the waste foundry sand to remove metal waste and impurities. You can add shale powder, mix it with solvent and water in the machine, and after firing, you can produce building bricks;

4. Road construction asphalt: About 50% of natural growth aggregate is often added to the hot melt asphalt used for road construction. Waste sand can be used to replace 15 to 20% of natural growth aggregate. However, it is required to dry the waste sand and burn off the remaining pulverized coal and organic matter (based on actual reports);

5. Others: Waste foundry sand can also be made into rock wool, which is effective for pipe insulation.
